Fair Lawn is 'Best City in New Jersey,' Study Says

Studies keep piling more and more accolades on Fair Lawn.

Fair Lawn has been recognized for one virtue or another in a number of studies this year, but this newest one takes the cake: real estate research blog Movoto has declared Fair Lawn the best "city" in New Jersey.

The study considered amenities, cost of living, crime, education, median income, home value as the different factors when ranking communities in the state.

Fair Lawn did so well in the comparison because of its high number of amenities — pizzerias, bagel shops and diners — and because of its low crime rate, which is 60 percent lower than the state average, according to the report.

And while Fair Lawn is typically joined on these kinds of lists by Ridgewood and/or Paramus, this time the borough was the only Bergen County town to make Movoto's list

If it seems like the borough is being recognized every week by some new study, you're not too far off. Just last week, consumer advocacy site Nerdwallet named Fair Lawn the seventh-best community in the state for job seekers. They also named the borough the third best place in New Jersey for young families last month, and Fair Lawn has also been named the 49th safest city in the U.S. and a "booming suburb" this year.
