Radburn Association Donates to Girl Diagnosed with Cancer

9-year-old Maddie Pascual is battling lymphoblastic lymphoma cancer.

By Cornell Christianson

The Radburn Citizens' Association recently donated $1,300 to a local girl battling cancer.

Eric Schutz, president of the Association, recently presented the check to the family of Maddie Pascual, a 9-year-old fourth-grader who was diagnosed earlier this year with lymphoblastic lymphoma cancer.

"It can be said that a neighborhood is just a collection of buildings," Schutz said. "But, when neighbors come together as they have in Radburn to help other neighbors through their difficult times, the neighborhood truly becomes a community and the value of that is greater than the sum of its parts."

The Pascual family thanked the Association for the help.

"We moved to Radburn almost three years ago," they said. "Within days of moving here, we knew it was a special place. We have always been so grateful to live here, but never as grateful as we have been after Maddie was diagnosed with cancer.”
