Rescue Squad Holding Thanksgiving Fundraiser

The event will support the volunteer Fair Lawn Rescue Squad and the Fair Lawn Food Pantry.

The Fair Lawn Rescue Squad will hold a Thanksgiving fundraiser and raffle Saturday.

The event will include a sports memorabilia raffle, pumpkin pie eating contest, 50/50 cash raffle, holiday Poinsettia sale and refreshments.

There will also be a food drive to benefit the Fair Lawn Food Pantry, which was running low on some items as of earlier this month.

The event will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rescue Squad, 16-01 Romaine St.

The Fair Lawn Rescue Squad helps people who are trapped in a car or confined space and deals with problems like hazardous material spills, among other emergencies. The group is made up of volunteers and responded to nearly 350 calls last year. They won the "Governor’s Continued Excellence Award" earlier this year for their ongoing safety programs.
