Benefit for Resident Fighting Lung Disease

Fair Lawn Rotary is sponsoring a benefit Sunday at the Fair Lawn Knights of Columbus for resident Patrick McGowan, who recently received a lung transplant.

The Fair Lawn Rotary will hold a benefit for resident Patrick McGowan, who received a lung transplant this past November that saved his life.

McGowan, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 2008, is making a solid recovery but faces extraordinary post-surgery expenses that include follow-up care and a daily regimen of over 30 anti-rejection medications that are not covered by insurance.

As a result, members of McGowan's family and the community are getting together behind him to help any way they can.
