Benefit for Resident Fighting Lung Disease

Fair Lawn Rotary is sponsoring a benefit Sunday at the Fair Lawn Knights of Columbus for resident Patrick McGowan, who recently received a lung transplant.

The Fair Lawn Rotary will hold a benefit for resident Patrick McGowan, who received a lung transplant this past November that saved his life.

McGowan, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 2008, is making a solid recovery but faces extraordinary post-surgery expenses that include follow-up care and a daily regimen of over 30 anti-rejection medications that are not covered by insurance.

As a result, members of McGowan's family and the community are getting together behind him to help any way they can.

This Sunday, April 7, the Rotary is holding a benefit from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, located at 16-16 Maple Avenue, that includes entertainment and food, wine, beer and soda.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children under 12. Proceeds will go to benefit the Nationl Foundation for Transplants Patrick McGowan Fund. Please make checks out to the Rotary Foundation of Fair Lawn.

For tickets, call Fran Ingrati at 201-566-2425, John Cosgrove at 572-5637 or Rome DeBellis at 797-2530.
