Squirrel-Proofing Your Home

One of the things that get to be really annoying for a homeowner is when a wild animal starts shacking up in your attic or basement. Not only is it unnerving to think that you might have an animal crawling around on you when you fall asleep, but they will also make a mess and maybe even chew through your walls and wires and things.

I have previously had squirrels nesting in my attic, and while it never really got that bad, I was constantly stressed about it. In my mind, I was always mere seconds away from a full on squirrel attack. In reality, I called pest control and the squirrel was removed pretty quickly and easily.

While animal infestations can be a real pain, they can likely be avoided. Since my squirrel incident a few years ago, I always make sure to check for any small entrances around my home. When I moved into my new home, i screened off any holes before any rodents had a chance to get in. I also got some branches pruned. These squirrels are going to stay in the trees if I can help it.
