Police Identify Fair Lawn Man Who Died Saturday

The man who was found dead Saturday outside a residence on Warren Road has been identified as Donald Borodkin, 65, of Fair Lawn.

The late Saturday morning has been identified as longtime Fair Lawn resident Donald Borodkin, have confirmed.

Borodkin, a Plaza Road resident, had been walking door to door handing out flyers when he collapsed on the front porch of a home at the corner of Warren Road and Townley Road, directly behind the  parking lot. The medical examiner has yet to release a cause of death, but at this time Borodkin's death is not considered suspicious.

A supporter of preserving Daly Field from development, Borodkin, 65, was distributing flyers promoting Monday's hearing on the when he fell ill, according to multiple residents involved in Daly Field preservation efforts.

According to Borodkin's obituary, he was a salesman who had lived in Fair Lawn for 61 years where he'd volunteered as an All-Sports coach and open space advocate.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalind "Ros" Borodkin, and his children Alex Borodkin and Shari Borodkin.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at , located at 13-01 Broadway in Fair Lawn. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Memorial donations in memory of Donald B. Borodkin may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Tomorrows Children's Fund, c/o Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect Avenue, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
