OCEANOS & FAIRLAWN'S MASTER PLAN

The second Hearing of Fairlawn's New Master plan will be held Monday, April 7, 2014, at 7:30 pm, at the Municipal building, in Council Chambers.

All Fairlawn residents should attend, as the Master Plan contains changes to Fairlawn's zoning, land use, historic preservation, recycling, etc..

Everyone in Fairlawn is affected in some way. To see what's in store for YOU,  go to fairlawn.org.  The Home page has a link to the Master Plan on the right side. You can also get a copy of the Master Plan from the Planning Board office.

Page 45 deals with Oceanos and its expansion plan to become a catering hall.  The Master Plan appears to accommodate the restaurant's expansion...something all the residents are against.  The restaurant is in an all RESIDENTIAL zone, and with the Master Plan guidelines appearing to favor its expansion, it appears as if it's giving the restaurant the go-ahead.

If Oceanos really wants a catering hall, there's plenty of COMMERCIAL properties available, to buy and build on, all over New Jersey.  Trying to force one in an all residential area, no one wants, is not the way to go.

Local residents feel the Master Plan is not in their best interest, nor, is it considering their concerns regarding Oceanos' expansion plans: problems with traffic, accidents, street parking, devaluation of property values, noise, operating morning, noon and night 7 days a week instead of just lunch and dinner as it is now, the safety of the nursery school children a few yards north of the restaurant, etc..

Attend the Hearing to voice your opinion.  Don't be afraid to get involved and speak up.  You have the might and the right on your side.  Call your friends and neighbors who might not be aware of the changes that will be taking place in their town over the next 6 years.

Looking forward to seeing a large turnout of concerned Fairlawn citizens.
