Authorities Investigating Midday Bank Robbery

Chase Bank on Fair Lawn Avenue robbed at 12:50 p.m., police say

Several agencies are currently investigating a bank robbery at the on Fair Lawn Avenue that occurred at around 12:50 p.m. Saturday.

Fair Lawn police said they are looking for a single actor, believed to be a man, but confirmed no one is in custody.

In addition to Fair Lawn police, the FBI, Sherriff's Department, Glen Rock Police and NJ Transit are aiding in the investigation, Police Lt. Derek Bastinck said.

Yellow police tape cordoned off the back entrance to the 21-01 Fair Lawn Avenue bank as investigators from the Bergen County Sherrif's Investigations Unit checked for forensics. Several bank customers were turned away while investigators worked the scene.

Police could not immediately provide information as to the amount taken, the suspect's description or if a weapon was used in the commission of a crime. No injuries were reported.
