How can people still get away with robbing banks in 2011??

Banks without bandit barriers seem to be an easier target plus the amount of hours banks are open these days just gives crooks easier access. Why banks are open 12 hours a day with the technology of today is perplexing.

Many banks have removed the barriers since they gave an "unfriendly" appearance to customers. Banks keep much less cash on hand these days, have better cameras and often will toss an ink bomb into the bag, making it easier to idenitfy the bad guys. With barriers, if someone is determined enough there will be greater danger to bystanders. As to "banking hours," for many of us that might seem as unattainable as "library hours."

Why has there been no follow-up on this story? Has the culprit been captured? I'd like more information.

Thank you David. I have been thinking the exact same thing. What's the hold-up?(no pun intended) I mean if the FBI is on the case, and there are several clear photos of this guy, what is taking so long, and why is there never any update? I would imagine sooner rather than alter he would be on TV'S MOST WANTED station.
