Bomb Scare Temporarily Closes Fair Lawn Avenue Bridge

The Bergen County Police Department Bomb Squad responded to Fair Lawn Thursday morning to inspect reports of a suspicious object found along the Fair Lawn Avenue bridge.

Police briefly closed the Fair Lawn Avenue bridge Thursday morning to investigate reports of a suspicious object on the bridge, Sgt. James Krizek said.

Fair Lawn and Paterson police officers closed their respective sides of the bridge just before 9 a.m., so the Bergen County Police Department's Bomb Squad could locate and inspect the object, he said.

Following the bomb squad's examination, the object was confirmed to be a car part with wires sticking out of it, Krizek said.
