Dozen Burglaries Lead Fair Lawn Cops to Call for Diligence

The Fair Lawn Police Department is asking borough residents to close their windows, lock their doors and keep an eye on their neighbor’s houses in lieu of 12 reported burglaries across town since July 17.

“Fair Lawn Police is asking for resident’s help in being diligent in their home security and to suspicious people walking in their neighborhoods,” according to a press release from the department.

Most of the burglars entered the targeted homes through a rear entrance or unlocked windows, and jewelry and electronics were among the stolen items, according to cops.

Police are asking residents to keep their windows closed when they leave their homes and their doors locked whether they are home or not.

They also ask that community members keep an eye on their neighbor’s homes when they are out of the house, and to call the police department at 201-796-1400 if they see someone or something that appears suspicious.
