Man Was Selling Cocaine Near Elementary School, Cops Say

Mike Paniagua, 43, was charged for allegedly selling cocaine near Warren Point School.

Fair Lawn Police arrested a 43-year-old New York man who was allegedly selling cocaine near an elementary school Friday afternoon.

Mike Paniagua allegedly admitted to dealing cocaine after police found one bag of the drug and numerous empty baggies inside his car near Warren Point School on Broadway, according to Sgt. Brian Metzler.

Paniagua was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, distribution of a CDS and distribution of CDS within 1,000 feet of school property after Detective Jeff Welsh, Detective Tim O’Shaughnessy and Detective Lt. Michael Utel stopped the New York man on Broadway at 27th Street, according Metzler.

Detectives also seized $1,637 in cash, three U.S. money orders totaling $1,119.33, three cell phones and a Rolex watch found in Paniagua's car.

Paniagua was released on his own recognizance.
