Fair Lawn Man Hit by Car While Chasing Dog on Parkway

The man suffered a broken arm and leg. The dog was found uninjured.

A 58-year-old Fair Lawn man was hit by a car on the Garden State Parkway in Paramus Saturday morning, northjersey.com reported.

The man had pulled onto the shoulder of the highway to give change for the toll to another driver he was following at about 6:45 a.m., according to the report. It was then that the dog got loose and ran onto the road and then man chased it.

A driver in another car was slowing down for the toll but was unable to stop in time and hit the man, who suffered a broken arm and leg. No one else — including the dog — was injured in the incident.

There were no charges filed for the incident.
