Woman Brings Neighbor Cupcakes then Steals His Car, Cops Say

Shannon Henry, 23, allegedly stole the keys to a neighbor's car during a cupcake delivery Wednesday.

Oh, how sweet it isn't.

Fair Lawn Police arrested a borough resident Thursday who they say stole a neighbor's car after she brought him cupcakes.

A Hartley Place resident reported the car, a 2010 Kia, and about $10 in loose change missing from his garage Thursday morning, according to Det. Sgt. Brian Metzler.

Police found the car in a nearby parking lot and recovered the keys from Shannon Henry, 23, a neighbor and acquaintance of the victim who allegedly took the keys when she brought cupcakes over to the victim the day before. She came back for the car later, Metzler said.

Henry was charged with three counts of burglary and two counts of theft. She was being held at the Bergen County Jail on $10,000 bail with a 10 percent option Friday.
