Minivan Bursts into Flames After Test Drive

A vehicle under repair at Han's Auto Repair in Saddle Brook started smoking and eventually burst into flames Monday night following a test drive.

A minivan burst into flames in Saddle Brook Monday night after being taken out for a test drive by an auto mechanic who had been working on the vehicle, Police Chief Bob Kugler said.

Kugler said the car began smoking during a test drive by a mechanic at Han's Auto Repair on Route 46. Heavy smoke was billowing from the vehicle's hood by the time the mechanic returned it to the shop and it was fully engulfed in flames by the time police and firefighters arrived just after 10:20 p.m., Kugler said.

The owner of Han's declined comment on the incident.
