'NJ COP SHOT' Program Gets Support From Fair Lawn Police

The program offers rewards for information on anyone who shoots a police officer in New Jersey.

Fair Lawn Police recently joined law enforcement from around the state in placing "NJ COP SHOT" bumper stickers on their patrol cars in support of the program, according to Fair Lawn PBA President Michael O'Brien.

The NJ COP SHOT program offers $20,000 rewards for information whenever a New Jersey police officer is shot. It was started after a 2007 incident in which an off-duty Paterson officer was shot and killed by a robber at a restaurant.

"We wholeheartedly support this important program," O'Brien said in a press release. "Anyone who kills or seriously injures a New Jersey Law Enforcement Officer should realize that with the public's support, we will find you."
