Police: Camera Caught Ex-Subway Employee Stealing Cash, Computer

Two Ridgewood residents were charged with burglary and theft.

A former employee of the Maple Avenue Subway was arrested for stealing $130 in cash and a laptop from the restaurant, according to Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Brian Metzler.

Dawn Arne, 27, the former employee, and James Soltan, 33, both of Ridgewood, allegedly broke into the eatery overnight Dec. 22 and took the money and computer.

Detective Peter Yuskaitis identified the pair through video from a security camera in the restaurant, Metzler said.

Police arrested Arne and Soltan on Dec. 27 and charged them both with burglary and theft. They were released on their own recognizance.
