Police Explorers Complete Academy

The group will be recognized at an awards and promotion ceremony August 12.

Six members of the Fair Lawn Police Explorer Post 902 recently completed a week-long residential "police recruit" styled academy at Monmouth University sponsored by the New Jersey Police Athletic League.

Officers from law enforcement agencies throughout the state were on staff, including officers from Fair Lawn, Interim Chief Glen Cauwels said in a press release. The academy provided "basic police recruit styled instruction" designed to give each explorer a unique insight into the world of policing.

The Law Enforcement Exploring Career Training Academy is a program designed for young adults, age 14 to 21 who wish to explore a career in law enforcement. The program is designed to give them an opportunity to see what law enforcement is all about.
