Saddle Brook Man, 82, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl, 11

Nicolangelo Pallotta faces sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges.

An 82-year-old Saddle Brook man has been accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

Nicolangelo Pallotta was charged Wednesday with one count of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

The victim, who was an acquaintance of Pallotta, told her mother about the assault, the prosecutor's office said. The mother informed the girl's school and took her daughter to a pediatrician. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency and the Saddle Brook Police Department then came and interviewed the victim at her home.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit conducted an investigation and the victim reaffirmed the allegation against Pallotta, the prosecutor's office said.

Pallotta was released after posting bond on $100,000 bail with no 10 percent option, according to Bergen Prosecutor John Molinelli.

Pallotta, who was ordered to have no contact with the victim, is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
