Power Restored to PSEG Customers in Bergen, Passaic Counties

PSEG reports that power restored to all of the affected customers after less than an hour.

Tens of thousands of customers in Bergen and Passaic counties were briefly without power on New Years Eve, according to multiple reports and the PSEG website.

About 40,000 customers in northern New Jersey went dark Tuesday evening for just under an hour starting at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The outages were caused a problem at the Fair Lawn switching station, and primarily affected customers in Fair Lawn, Ridgewood, Hawthorne and Paterson, according to a PSEG spokeswoman.
