Train Hits Car in Elmwood Park

The crash caused delays in service but no injuries.

Commuters returning home from work on New Jersey Transit's Bergen County Line were delayed Tuesday night after a train hit a car at a crossing in Elmwood Park, NJ.com reported.

There was one man in the car and 800 people on the train at the time of the incident, but no injuries, according to the report.

The crash occurred at a crossing on Midland Avenue at about 5:45 p.m., according to the report. The motorist, 54-year-old Rakesh Sharma of Iselin, was issued summonses for reckless driving and interference with transportation.
