Two Teens Arrested For Alleged Burglary From Parked Car

Fair Lawn Police said they caught a pair of Paterson residents with items stolen from a car parked on Forest Street.

Two Paterson teenagers, including one minor, were arrested by Fair Lawn Police Tuesday morning for allegedly stealing sunglasses and change from a parked car.

A Chester Street resident reported to police at about 7:14 a.m. that he had spotted two people "that were unfamiliar to him" on bikes, according to Det. Sgt. Brian Metzler. The resident circled around the block and found the two were then on his property.

Police Officers John Rovetto, Sean Macys, Luis Vasquez, Alan Annazone and Sgt. Paul Scott found 19-year-old Felix Rodriguez and a 14-year-old nearby and arrested them both.

The teens allegedly had a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses and change taken from a parked car on Forest Street, according to Metzler.

Rodriguez allegedly gave police a fake name and claimed to be just 17. He was charged with burglary, theft and giving false information to a law enforcement officer. He was being held at Fair Lawn Police Headquarters in lieu of $35,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

The 14-year-old was charged with burglary, theft and trespassing on a juvenile petition that will be forwarded to family court. He was released to an adult.
