County Grant Paying For Fair Lawn Park Improvements

The funds will pay for items in all of the borough's parks.

A $75,000 Bergen County Community Development grant will go toward various improvements of Fair Lawn's parks.

The borough council approved an ordinance appropriating the grant money, as well as $75,000 in matching funds for the projects, during their meeting this week.

The funds will pay for items like new basketball hoops, tables and benches in parks throughout Fair Lawn, according to borough officials.

Bergen County's Community Development Division provides grant funding to towns and other groups for a wide variety of projects.

Fair Lawn applied for the grant in 2010 and, once it was approved, got the date extended through September 7 of this year.
