Fair Lawn Borough Hall, Community Center to Re-Open Wednesday

Borough hall and the community center will re-open Wednesday, but the library and senior center are a question mark.

Residents who had hoped to warm up or recharge their electronic devices at a public facility Tuesday will have to wait one more day. Fair Lawn plans to re-open borough hall and the community center on Wednesday, deputy emergency management coordinator Wendy Demeraski said.

Neither the Fair Lawn library nor the senior center have regained power -- borough hall, located in the same area, is being powered by a generator -- and their availability on Wednesday has yet to be determined.

As for other borough services, recycling collection has been cancelled for the remainder of the week and garbage collection is cancelled again Wednesday. Overnight parking enforcement has been suspended until at least 2 a.m. Thursday.

The borough council meeting scheduled for Tuesday has also been cancelled.

Would someone from the borough keep on PSEG and find out how really long this power issue is going to take including their coffee breaks?
