Fair Lawn Streets Closing For Repaving

Borough officials advised drivers to obey "no parking" signs or vehicles will be towed.

A milling and paving project on several Fair Lawn streets is scheduled to start this week and will close the roads while work is done.

Crews were scheduled to begin removing asphalt from George Street between Fair Lawn Avenue and Berdan Avenue and from Berdan between River Road and 20th Street Monday. Officials warned drivers to expect detours and delays during the work.

Asphalt removal was also scheduled to start Tuesday on 30th Street between Broadway and Raphael Street, including Warrant Point School, Thomas Jefferson School, Milnes School and the intersection of Mandon Place and Leslie Place.

Repaving of George Street and Berdan Avenue is scheduled to start Wednesday, weather permitting. The work will continue the next day, if needed, and begin on 30th Street, the Warren Point, Thomas Jefferson and Henry Milnes School parking lots and the intersection of Mandon and Leslie.

The work will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each day. Officials are advising drivers to obey "no parking" signs or vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.
