Kittens, Dogs Available For Adoption From Fair Lawn

More stray cats have been reported this year than is typical and homes are needed for the pets.

Fair Lawn has eight kittens, one adult cat and two dogs currently available for adoption.

There have been more stray animals found in Fair Lawn and elsewhere around the area this year than in most other years, so potential pet owners are needed, according to Tracy Coates, Fair Lawn's animal control officer. The animals available for adoption were all found in the borough.

Adopting one of the animals is free and cheap spay/neuter and vaccination packages are available through LuvMyPet.com or People for Animals, Inc.'s Neuter Scooter program, which both operate services out of the Paramus Petco, according to Coates. Some of the cats have already been fixed and/or vaccinated, while others will still require it.

Anyone interested in adopting one of the animals can call the Fair Lawn Health Department at (201) 794-5327 or the animal pound directly at (201) 794-5380.
