Members of the Fair Lawn High School senior class presented council Tuesday night with the gift of a sign to be displayed at the .

Deputy Mayor Steve Weinstein explained that the borough wanted to place a sign on the Naugle property so residents would be aware that the borough had purchased the land. The students, Weinstein said, offered to prepare the sign.

Senior class president Zach Weinstein, the deputy mayor's son, stepped to the podium at Tuesday's council meeting to present the sign.

"When I heard that the Naugle House was purchased, I figured why not do something with the senior class that could be shown for years to come," Weinstein said. "So we made a sign."

The sign reads: "Open Space Preservation Program. This Property Has Been Preserved By The Residents of Fair Lawn"
