What Would You Name Fair Lawn's Newest Street?

The town council discussed prospective names for a new street to be located in the Fair Lawn Promenade, an upscale, mixed-use development between Route 208 North and Pollitt Drive, at their meeting Monday.

Mayor John Cosgrove previously suggested naming the street after William Grieder, a lifelong Fair Lawn resident and former fire chief who passed away in November of 2012.

At Monday’s meeting Councilwoman Lisa Swain introduced Nancy Wallace as a potential name, in honor of the late Fair Lawn resident who passed away in April.  Wallace served on the Borough of Fair Lawn Board of Education as well as the Board of Directors.

“She was so involved in this community in many different ways,” Swain said of Wallace.

The council is also seeking suggestions from the Historic Preservation Committee and Jane Diepeveen, the town’s historian.
