Fair Lawn Republican Club Donates Food

Fair Lawn Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Fair Lawn Republican Club Donates Food To Fair Lawn Food Pantry

Fair Lawn Mayor Jeanne Baratta, Deputy Mayor John Cosgrove and Fair Lawn Republican Club members pay a visit to Liz Twiggs at the Fair Lawn Health and Human Services Department on Wednesday, November 21.

The Fair Lawn Republican Club donated foodstuffs and canned foods to the Fair Lawn Food Pantry for distribution to needy families. The pantry is reporting low inventories of basic food items and accepts donations at borough hall during regular hours.

No photo ops or articles for the other groups, organiztions, and hundreds of residents who donated and volunteered during these tough times. while i think its great the republican club is donating im just a little curios why say the cosmos club didnt get an article or anyother group for that matter. rich do you happen to belong to the republican club or did a member call you and say 'hey we are gonan go drop off some donations, come snap some pics and wirte an article about it"?
Rich Seibel November 28, 2012 at 08:28 PM
Let me know when you will be there.
Stuart Pace November 28, 2012 at 08:38 PM
Rich is a member of the rep club, and a good guy. The Cosmos Club was filmed when we dropped off our donation. Wayne was there and it was just good timing. There is a video on the patch showing me deliver the stuff.

Mr. Seibel certainly does belong to the Fair Lawn Republican Club. And he doesn't just "happen" to take pictures and post them here, he does so by design. He is part of their public relations effort. He most likely posts on the patch to gain public recognition for himself, and the Fair Lawn Republican Club as he will probably run for council next time around with Mr Dunay. Nothing wrong with that, as long as people who look at his contributions here are aware of his affiliations. And now they are.

so now doing good things is bad? jeesh.
JimDobson November 28, 2012 at 10:47 PM
I knew from the second I saw your patch comments in the "Patch Football Pick 'Em" you were trying to run for council .Nice try Rich!

come on Stuart- no one is questioning if he is a good guy or if doing good things is bad. Giving donations and helping others is ALWAYS good. But you can not tell me its not tacky to take pictures and write an article about about it when you are a member of that group. it makes it looks like you are advertising your good deeds so everyone knows you did it. you ran into wayne while dropping off donations, you didnt have a member of the cosmos club take pictures and write a patch article about it to show off your clubs good deeds.

Aww Stu, you spoiled it. I don't think Rich wanted to disclose his relationship to the FLRC or he would have addressed it in his reply to (0).
Stuart Pace November 29, 2012 at 01:40 PM
Mary, so you can call out every organization in town. Cosmos sends articles to the Shopper, the Chamber has a whole newsletter about themselves, All civic minded organizations promote their efforts. Give me a break.
BellairBerdan November 29, 2012 at 05:32 PM
I won't go into people doing charitable work for the sole reason to get publicity, but I will address the ethics of writing an article and not disclosing your relationship to the subject. For instance the FTC has guidelines for bloggers who promote and endorse to disclose any relationship or monetary interest they have with the product or advertiser. Originally this could have been a carefully worded error of omission, but seems a little unscrupulous when, upon being directly asked of the relationship, it isn't addressed in the reply.

Are you against it because you are a democrat BB? Because god forbid the dems ever promote themselves.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
BellairBerdan November 30, 2012 at 11:59 AM
No Stu, the point is one of disclosure and honesty. You shouldn't let yourself fall asleep over those things.
BellairBerdan November 30, 2012 at 12:23 PM
Are you willing to overlook the deception because you self-identify with the Republicans?
Stuart Pace November 30, 2012 at 02:36 PM
I don't self identify with any party. I do however applaud any organization that is giving to the community.
Stuart Pace November 30, 2012 at 02:38 PM
And disclosure and honesty, coming from an anon, is quite hilarious.
BellairBerdan November 30, 2012 at 05:18 PM
Yes Stu, you're like one of those "Independants" that only vote Republican. A rose by any other name still smells.... Yes I do only post under this name. Do you find it just as hilarious when your FLRC pals post something under what you consider a "real name" then change accounts to an anonymous name to either bolster support for their view or attack their critics?
Stuart Pace November 30, 2012 at 06:33 PM
Right BB, you are the all knowing. Ask the republicans how much they adore me. Don't worry, your crappy party will be in power next year. Because thats all the Dems and Reps want....power. No one is fixing Fair Lawn, just gearing up for the next step in politics while FL suffers. I want to thank you specifically for that.
BellairBerdan November 30, 2012 at 11:19 PM
I will agree that Fair Lawn can use some fixing but I think you should thank those that feel that if you can't do it for nothing you shouldn't serve at all. That leaves the positions only for those already well connected and ambitious to get to the next step and denies the job to a real small business person that can't get health benefits on their own or a single parent or struggling family that can use that extra $200 a month. Those are the people that can really fix Fair Lawn.
Stuart Pace December 01, 2012 at 03:08 PM
no one can fix Fair Lawn. it's done. Stick a fork in it.

thats the kind of winner attitude we could have used on the council!
