Board of Education to Appoint Replacement Trustee

At Monday's special meeting, the board will name a replacement for trustee Christopher Winnie, who announced his resignation last month.

The Saddle Brook Board of Education will appoint a new board trustee Monday to fill the unexpired term of Christopher Winnie, who resigned his post on Jan. 16.

The board will convene Monday at 7 p.m. for a special meeting at Saddle Brook High School/Middle School to choose Winnie's replacement, who will serve from February through the end of the year.

At the special meeting, board members will recess to closed session and conduct interviews with individuals interested in filling the vacated seat. Following the interview period, the meeting will reconvene in open session and a replacement for Winne will be named.

Winnie, a longtime Saddle Brook resident, said he resigned last month to avoid a potential conflict of interest but declined to go into more detail, according to NorthJersey.com.

He won an uncontested three-year term on the board in November. His resignation came less than a month into his first term as a board trustee.
