Citing Safety Concerns, Fair Lawn Cancels School For Rest of Week; Saddle Brook Cancels Thursday

Schools are closed for the rest of the week in Fair Lawn, and on Thursday in Saddle Brook due to outages and safety concerns.

As widespread power outages and safety concerns continue to pose problems in Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook, schools in both communities will remain closed on Thursday. Fair Lawn has cancelled classes Friday, as well.

Fair Lawn High School, which has power, will serve as a charging station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday for residents who may need to recharge electrical devices. Residents should enter through the rear parking lot and head to the D Cafeteria, Board of Education president Michael Rosenberg said.

Parents who received a phone call Wednesday from the Milnes Elementary School principal informing them that school would re-open Thursday should disregard it.
