Jefferson School Raises $17K For American Heart Association

The school was recently recognized for last year's successful 'Hoops For Heart' program.

Thomas Jefferson Middle School was recently recognized with two plaques for a fundraiser held by the school which raised $17,112 for the American Heart Association.

The school earned first place in New Jersey and was named a top "Hoops For Heart" school on the national level. The physical education department is scheduled to be honored at the Annual Health and Physical Education Conference, NJAHPERD, next month.

School officials have expanded their goal this year, hoping to raise $20,000. They will hold a pair of events toward that effort, including a parent/teacher volleyball tournament Jan. 23 and a student/teacher volleyball tournament Feb. 14. Donations can also be made online here.
