Mobile Museum Visits Fair Lawn Schools

The New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum highlights successful people from around the state in a unique exhibit which travels to schools and community events.

The New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum, an 850-square-foot exhibit which fits inside an expanded tractor trailer, visited Memorial School Thursday and Thomas Jefferson School Friday.

The museum highlights writers, actors, athletes, musicians and other successes and celebrities from around New Jersey with interactive exhibits.

"We thought it would be a great idea to do a reverse field trip here in Fair Lawn," district social studies supervisor Deborah Viscardi said.

Seventh- and eighth-grade students from the schools took 20-minute tours of the mobile museum during their social studies classes. They answered questions from what they learned at the Mobile Hall of Fame to create their own hall of fame in class.

Besides teaching students about people of historic significance, Viscardi said she hoped the museum would teach the students to aspire to greatness and overcome any challenges in their lives.
