Saddle Brook Residents Holding Memorial For Sandy Hook Victims

This post provided by Thomas Van Winkle

The Saddle Brook Junior Girl Scout Troop 60568 and Mayor's Youth Group of Saddle Brook invite everyone to join them to honor the lives lost at the Sandy Hook Elementary School last year.

The troop and its leaders, Joan Troyano and Lisa Gerolimos, wanted to do something to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. They brainstormed several ideas and decided that they should hold a memorial service on the one-year anniversary of the shooting. So, Joan Troyano decided to reach out to the president of the Saddle Brook Mayor's Youth Group, Thomas Van Winkle.

During the service, the girl scout troop will be reading poems. Both the Mayor's Youth Group and the troop will be reading the victims' names. The troop also has plans distribute free keychains to all those in attendance.

The service will be held at the First Reformed Church of Saddle Brook, located at 5 Ackerman Ave (corner of Saddle River Rd) on Saturday, December 14 at 7 p.m. There will be refreshments to follow the service downstairs in our Fellowship Hall. The flyer is available here

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to call the church office at 201-843-6672, contact Thomas Van Winkle at 201-694-3715 or  tvanwinkle121@gmail.com, or email the Mayor's Youth Group at saddlebrookmyg@gmail.com.
