Six Candidates Seek 3 Fair Lawn School Board Seats

There are also 10 candidates seeking three seats on the Saddle Brook Board of Education

All three members of the Fair Lawn Board of Education who are up for reelection this year will have to defend their seats against a group of challengers.

Board President Mike Rosenberg, a teacher and life member of the Fair Lawn Rescue squad who served until 2011, and board members Cindy Jo Quackenbush and Mary Wallace, a retired teacher, are all seeking to keep their seats.

Former board member Ron Barbarulo, who served for a term before losing in last year's election, is looking to reclaim his seat.

Newcomers Vinko Grskovic, a former Libertarian Party candidate for State Assembly, and Ofelia Ramos, an ESL teacher, are also seeking seats on the board.

In Saddle Brook, there are a total of five school board seats up for election.

Board members Robert Naegely, Joseph Toth and Gerard Taylor, who was appointed to the board after resigning for an unsuccessful council run, are seeking new full terms. They are facing a crowded ticket in a three-seat race against Michael Accomando, who attempted a write-in campaign last year, David Gierek, Kim Scanapieco and Adam Mucci.

Board member Regina Barrale is running uncontested to keep the unexpired two-year seat she was appointed to in February.

Former board member Angela Robinson and Blase Billack, a two-time candidate for Congress, are competing for an unexpired one-year term.

The general election is scheduled for November 5.

I apologize if I offended anyone. You would be surprised at the hoops that have to be gone through once we find out someone does not belong here and the amount of time they legally have. There are also laws about who can sray if their life situation changes and they become homeless or transient. I do not know if we have recovered any money but I do know there have been quite a few investigations and hearings. Is it a priority, of course. Do we seek out these things from stafff, of course. We ask our staff and the public to report anyone you think is in our schools that don't belong. Keep in mind, students may be from dual custody homes and other situations that legally allow them to be here.

Great! I inspired you to create yet another screen name! Mr Rosenberg, There will always be a person who thinks because they see a child in town that doesn't look like themselves, that child couldn't possibly live here. They have no proof, they don't know anyone, they just KNOW they're right and you'll have to prove them wrong. But even when you do they still won't accept the truth.

Spoken like a certified sycophant! Its people like yourself that run to the " bigot" card in an attempt to shame and discredit others that touch a nerve. NOT once did I say I knew a damn thing : however , I have just as much a right to ask the questions I posted as does the guy or gal that inspired them.Your bully style blogging is childish. Let Mr Rosenberg answer. Regarding the moniker , I picked it knowing it would flush you out like a hive of possessive hornets! obviously your colors reign true! So tell me Bell air, why the resistance? You sponsoring (in address) a sister's child or friends son?

I don't think you know the definition of sycophant. Why would you need to flush me out if I was already here? And lol @ moniker..what an old man word.
