State Awards $134K School Renovation Grant to Saddle Brook

The grant will be used to replace windows at Long Memorial Elementary School.

The Schools Development Authority announced Friday that they were awarding a $134,550 grant to Saddle Brook Schools to replace windows at Long Memorial Elementary School.

The renovation will provide students with a "safe, modernized" learning environment, according to SDA CEO Marc Larkins.

The project is expected to cost a total of $336,375, so local taxpayers will still be responsible for $201,825.

“Saddle Brook is committed to delivering exceptional educational experiences to every student,” Superintendent Richard Katz said in a press release. “This grant will help to improve the learning environment for the students at Long Memorial Elementary School.”

The state's SDA grant program pays for at least 40 percent of approved school construction and renovation projects. Saddle Brook has received a total of more than $6 million through the program.
