State Releases School Violence, Vandalism Report

Officials from the New Jersey Department of Education released Thursday the 2012-13 school year Violence, Vandalism and Substance Abuse in the Schools Report.

Fair Lawn had 4,572 enrolled students with 25 incidents of violence, seven incidents of vandalism, zero incidents with weapons, seven incidents with substances and 17 HIB for a total of 55 incidents.

Saddle Brook had 1,675 enrolled students with four incidents of violence, one incident of vandalism, zero incidents with weapons or substances and five HIB, for a total of 10 incidents.

Across Bergen County, there were 71,018 students with 669 incidents of violence, 111 incidents of vandalism, 67 incidents with weapons, 185 incidents with substances and 402 HIB for a total of 1,400 incidents. No Bergen districts were among the nine most violent in the state.
