Fair Lawn to Host Basketball Tournament for Breast Cancer Awareness

The Breast Cancer Basketball Challenge, now in its fifth year, will be held at Fair Lawn High School on Saturday, Jan. 5.

Fair Lawn High School will host the fifth annual Breast Cancer Basketball Challenge on Saturday to raise breast cancer awareness among female high school athletes across North Jersey.

Girls varsity basketball teams from 10 North Jersey high schools, including Fair Lawn's girls team, will compete in this year's Challenge, which aims to educate the 300 participating student-athletes about the disease.

Forrest Elementary School principal Mike Weaver said the Challenge was developed while he was coaching the girls varsity basketball team in Park Ridge. He brought it with him to Fair Lawn when he joined the district.
