Students Donate FLHS Marathon Proceeds to ADA Committee

Students from Committee presented a $1,500 donation Thursday to the borough's  that will go toward the group's quest to .

"Marathon raised more money than it’s raised in years," said senior class president Zach Weinstein, whose father -- a former Fair Lawn mayor -- co-chairs the ADA Committee. "Because of that we wanted to give to an organization that’s fairly new and needs the money to really thrive."

Each year for Marathon, one of the high school's longest running tradiitions, members of the senior class plan an action-packed two days full of continuous games, music and entertainment with the goal of raising money for charity.

Afterwards, a group of students and parents who helped coordinate this year's Marathon determined the recipients of the more than $7,000 that the event raised, recent and ADA Committee member Daria Voskoboynikov explained.

"We all got together and the donation to the ADA Committee was one of the largest ones that we made just because we all felt like it was a really special cause that was very unique in its goals," she said.
