VIDEO: Santa Boone Pays a Visit to Fair Lawn Family

This Christmas season, Santa and his elves brought a tree, a wreath and some food to a Fair Lawn family in need.

When Liz Twiggs, coordinator of the , found out that one of her clients couldn't afford a Christmas tree this holiday season, she sprung into action and launched, "Operation Santa Boone."

With the help of Detective David Boone and food pantry volunteer Beri Raffiani, Twiggs procured a 7.5-foot pre-lit tree, a wreath, two shopping cartloads of food, some small gifts and an additional top secret Christmas gift (to be opened on Christmas Day) for her client, Theresa, and Theresa's family.

On Dec. 6, the crew (Twiggs and her daughter Bridget Maresca dressed as elves, Boone dressed as Santa and Raffiani as herself) launched "Operation Santa Boone" -- a surprise night-time delivery of the items.

Members of the assisted with the dramatic delivery in their vehicle.

Watch the video to see "Operation Santa Boone" unfold.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what Christmas is all about. And who better than Liz and Santa Boone? Well done you guys, and the Rescue Squad helping out. Outstanding.

What a great time we had! Thank you Zak for riding along with us on our mission. Only one correction, Twiggs didn't procure the tree & wreath, that was all Santa. I just procure the right people for my crazy missions! Yes Stu, this really is what Christmas is all about. I'm glad we were able to make it happen for Theresa and her family. Thank you to Santa, all of his elves and even those behind the scenes who had a part in making some Christmas magic!

i dont know much about police ranks but this was just a thought: i was fortunate to have detective boone as a d.a.r.e instructer and since then have seen him do many great things for fair lawn. i believe he has all the qualities that make a great cop and leader- he demonstrates compassion, common sense, humility, etc...with the current problems we are having w/ leadership n management in the police department- why not promote detective boone and put him in charge? i dont know if this is possible or even if he would want to be, but detective boone is exactly the type of person i would want in charge of protecting our town. if this is not plausable it would be very beneficial to listen to detective boones ideas on how to resolve the problems we are having with the FLPD.
