Crime Prevention Forum, Sept. 11 Ceremonies, Street Fair This Week

Here's a look at the week ahead in Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook.

The Fair Lawn Arts Council is holding the "day in the life of Fair Lawn" photo expo this week. All borough residents are invited to take photos fitting the theme between September 8 and 14 and submit them to flartscouncil@gmail.com.

Monday is the first day of school for Fair Lawn students.

The Young Democrats of Bergen County will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Gordon, Eustace and Lagana campaign headquarters at 31-00 Broadway in Fair Lawn.

The Saddle Brook Zoning Board is scheduled to continue a hearing for a proposed self storage facility on Midland Avenue that has some nearby Fair Lawn residents concerned it could worsen chronic flooding in their neighborhood. The board meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in town hall. The meeting's agenda is available here.

Fair Lawn will hold a Sept. 11, 2001 memorial ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the 9-11 Remembrance Memorial Wall next to the municipal building.

The Fair Lawn Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers at the municipal building.

The Saddle Brook Council is scheduled to hold a work session meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday. The agendas for the meetings are available here.

Saddle Brook will hold a Sept. 11 ceremony at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at town hall.

Fair Lawn Police will host a crime prevention forum to discuss how residents can protect their homes in response to recent burglaries Wednesday. The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fair Lawn Community Center card room.

The Fair Lawn Historic Preservation Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the community center.

The Fair Lawn Environmental Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in municipal building room B-5.

The Radburn Players will hold auditions for "Love, Loss & What I Wore" in the Fair Lawn Community Center Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The Fair Lawn Library will host an introduction to T'ai Chi Chih program with instructor Carol Spicer at 7 p.m. Thursday.

St. Anne Church will host the Saint Anne Street Faire from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature rides, raffles, music and food.

Yom Kippur starts Friday evening.

Temple Beth Sholom will host its annual “Pizza in the Hut” sukkah decorating party at 5 p.m. Sunday. Materials cost $7 for children 13 and older or $5 for younger children. Food will be provided. To make reservations, call 201 797-9321 by Thursday.
