Adjacent to Memorial Middle school, Memorial Park has much to offer, including the sand-ringed Memorial Pool, and a picnic area. The park also contains the Avenue of the Heroes walkway, the DeJong baseball/softball field, roller hockey and street hockey courts, and two tennis courts. When temperatures permit, there is even ice skating at the park. Memorial Pool, which measures 300 feet across, includes a kiddie swimming area, slides and a raft. The fully supervised facility also has a bath house with restrooms and first aid and a small snack stand. Permits for Memorial Park's picnic grove can be obtained by completing an application from the Recreation Department, which can be reached at 201-796-6746. Memorial Park is not currently adopted under the borough's Adopt-A-Park program. By adopting a park, a group agrees to periodically clean up the site and report any vandalism or safety problems. A sign is posted at the park recognizing the group's contribution.

this is by far, the best - now is may not be picture perfect as perhaps some of the others may be, but what it contains, and what it represents and how much use and enjoyment this place brings the residents/visitors, to me, makes it the best. I may be slightly partial as Schmidt's Field was always a very special place for me, as it was named after my father, Robert 1960.
