Cosgrove Dispels News Report; Won't Run for State Senate
Deputy Mayor John Cosgrove said there is no truth to a news report that he is on a shortlist of potential Republican State Senate candidates.
Fair Lawn Deputy Mayor John Cosgrove dismissed media speculation Thursday that he would challenge Sen. Bob Gordon in next year's New Jersey Senate race. "I'm not going to seek nor will I accept that seat. I never even thought about it," said Cosgrove, responding to a Wednesday report on PolitickerNJ.com that tossed out his name as one of four Bergen County Republicans who might take on Gordon in 2013. "I've already called Bob and told him that I'm staying in Fair Lawn."
