Fair Lawn runners fared well in last Sunday's Rebuilding Together Father's Day 5K held in Saddle River Park. Resident Anthony Patuzzo, 28, finished second overall with an impressive time of 16:45.60 and councilwoman Lisa Swain, an avid triathlete, sped through the course to finish second among female competitors (18th overall) with a time of 20:28.34. Patuzzo and Swain were among the over 300 runners and walkers who competed in the second annual Rebuilding Together Father's Day 5K, sponsored in part by Kuiken Brothers, along with more than a dozen other organizations and corporations. Rebuilding Together, a national non-profit that renovates homes, was on site in Fair Lawn Saturday helping resident Stacey Scott rebuild after Hurricane Irene.
Suffering mold and water damage from the effects of Hurricane Irene, but unable to afford repairs, Fair Lawn resident Stacey Scott turned to an organization called Rebuilding Together for help. Rebuilding Together is a national non-profit whose mission is to bring volunteers, communities and local businesses together to improve the homes and lives of low-income individuals. The organization designated April as National Rebuilding Month, which concluded on the last Saturday of April with National Rebuilding Day. On National Rebuilding Day, the local Bergen County affiliate of Rebuilding Together undertook 10 projects, including fixing up Stacey Scott's Oak Street residence.
