The Agape Road Show, a group of musicians, singers, actors, storytellers, and comedians who perform for area nursing home residents, visited Maple Glen Center in Fair Lawn on Dec. 1 In addition to a rousing performance of Hanukkah songs, the Agape singers also entertained with Christmas tunes. The Show must go on. The Agape Road Show, a 12-member non-profit group of musicians, singers, actors, dancers and comedians that offers entertainment to residents in convalescent hospitals and nursing homes is performing a Halloween show in Fair Lawn Saturday. At 2 p.m., Agape will perform at Maple Glen Center for an audience of over 50 senior citizens in a show celebrating Halloween. Volunteers of all ages and talent levels are welcome join the group whose program includes sing-along songs, jokes, magic and an original comedy skit with Nicki Kissil playing Snow Whyte. Wayne Robbins enjoyed a very special day earlier this week when he visited the Opportunity Center in Fair Lawn for the Agape Road Show's interactive performance. The Agape Road Show, an intergenerational group of musicians, singers, actors, storytellers, and comedians performed a volunteer musical show Tuesday at the Opportunity Center, a year-round facility that provides a day program for young adult special needs clients ages 21-and-up. Agape Road Show will perform Tuesday for the special needs individuals at the Opportunity Center.
The Agape Road Show, an intergenerational group of musicians, singers, actors, storytellers, and comedians that offers entertainment to residents in hospitals and nursing homes, will be performing a volunteer musical show at The Opportunity Center in Fair Lawn on Tuesday, July 24 at 1 p.m. The Opportunity Center was founded in 1965 by parents and civic organizations dedicated to improving the lives of adults with mental and physical challenges. In 1975, it moved into a large house at 13-19 Fair Lawn Ave. The non-profit Center, which is funded primarily by private donations, is open all year with the goal of providing a life-enriching day program for 25-to-35 young adult clients ages 21-and-up who have a broad range of disabilities …

Volunteers are welcome to join the Agape Road Show Saturday for an Independence Day performance at Maple Glen Center. Agape Road Show members will entertain the nursing home residents with a program that includes sing-along group songs, jokes, skits and magic from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The show will include an original Independence Day comedy skit with Betsy Ross played by Chris Andrews, Thomas Jefferson played by Ace Andrews and several children performing as Native American Warriors who helped the Revolutionary Army. Editor's Note: Wayne Robbins of "Inside Fair Lawn" was at Maple Glen Center for the performance on Saturday. The Agape Road Show, a 15-member group of volunteers who entertain residents in hospitals and nursing homes across northern New Jersey, performed its 50th show in the past five years at Maple Glen Center on Saturday. The Fair Lawn-based Agape troupe regaled the nursing home residents with a St. Patrick's Day program that included sing-along songs, jokes, skits and famous Irish blessings. Soloists Stephanie Zaentz, Louis Milgrom and Irene Slawenski sang “Danny Boy,” “Molly Malone” and “My Wild Irish Rose," and the Agage performers put on an original comedy skit that involved pirates battling leprechauns for their pot of gold.
