Borough Pushing to Expedite Rebuild of Brookdale Park Playground
There is still no timeframe for the reconstruction of the Brookdale Park playground, which was devastated in an accidental fire two weeks ago.
While there remains no timetable for the reconstruction of the Brookdale Park playground, manager Tom Metzler said the borough plans to fast-track the process as soon as it settles with its insurance carrier. "It’ll be a couple weeks before we know where we are with that," Metzler said Friday. "I’m actually meeting with our insurance representative...to see if we can get them to expedite that." On April 9, the playground burned to the ground in an accidental fire started by three juveniles who were at the park playing with matches.
