Scout Delivers Hefty Food Drive Returns
Stephen Silberman, a soon-to-be Eagle Scout, dropped off his food drive collections to the Fair Lawn Food Pantry Wednesday afternoon.
Aspiring Eagle Scout Stephen Silberman delivered to the food pantry Wednesday the copious returns from his three-week food drive. While he had set up collection drop boxes in borough hall, the library, the community center and at his karate dojo, the majority of his donations were raised during a frigid two-day stint in late February where he and about a dozen other scouts stood with signs at the Radburn Clock Tower imploring motorists and passersby to donate. "We were there for three hours the first day, four hours the second day and it was cold and windy," Silberman said. "But we got a lot of stuff."
