Saddle Brook, which was just 107 customers from full power restoration Wednesday morning, has experienced a significant setback with Winter Storm Athena. PSEG is now reporting between 501 and 2000 outages in the township, including three schools, and Police Chief Bob Kugler said numerous traffic lights have also been knocked out. Kugler said the department has grown so accustomed to handling traffic signal outages by now that on-duty patrols had the intersections with downed signals coned off within 15 minutes. "We're getting good at this," he said via text. "It's normal operations now!" The clean up is just beginning and I know the employees will continue to work hard to pick up the debris and keep our streets safe. Thank you, borough employees for all you do for the residents! - Mayor Lisa Swain

If Lisa Swain wanted to thank the Borough Employees for helping the residence she could have done this personally or, through internal communication from her office down to every department that helped. She did not send out this kind of message on the Patch when the Hurricane and flooding happened. Coincidentally election time is very near and I believe this is just another gimmick like the many…   more ›
