DOT Grant Will Pay for Berdan Avenue Resurfacing
The borough recently received a $300,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation to resurface Berdan Avenue.
Berdan Avenue motorists used to a bumpy ride can rest assured that the street will likely be resurfaced this year along with other roads on the borough's 2012 road maintenance list. Fair Lawn recently received $300,000 in grant funding from the New Jersey Department of Transportation to be used expressly to perform the Berdan Avenue improvement. The road had been excavated a number of years ago to increase underground piping size as part of a storm sewer upgrade intended to alleviate flooding problems during heavy rain. Following the excavation, the road was patched and left to settle while other roads around town were resurfaced.
