Watercolor Paintings on Display at Library

Paintings by Marlene Basile are featured in the display case by the library's front doors through June.

An exhibit featuring watercolor paintings by Marlene Basile is on display at the Fair Lawn library through June. Basile, who said she always knew she wanted to be an artist, didn't begin experimenting with watercolor until later in life. She has since painted still life, landscapes and is now dabbling in portraits.    After studying at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and the Art Student’s League and the Old Church Cultural Center in Demarest, Basile took a break while she raised her family. Upon returning to art, Basile joined the Ridgewood Art Institute to study watercolor under the direction of Peggy Dressel.
