Hair stylists at Bellezza Salon in Glen Rock will volunteer their services Sunday as part of the Fair Lawn High School Interact Club's annual Cut-a-Thon.
The annual Fair Lawn High School Interact Club Cut-a-Thon will be held Sunday at Bellezza Salon in Glen Rock. Bellezza's hair stylists will be volunteering their time from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to offer men's and women's haircuts, blowouts, face-frame highlights and manicures at discounted rates with all sales proceeds going to two local causes. Proceeds from this year's Cut-a-Thon will benefit the family of Sigi Nissimov and the Fair Lawn ADA Committee. Nissimov, the owner of Life Movement Dance Studio in Fair Lawn, died of cancer earlier this year at the age of 43. A Saddle Brook fourth grader was honored Wednesday as a state finalist for her anti-drug artwork during an awards ceremony for the 14th Annual Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey Design a Folder Contest at the Newark Museum. Franklin Elementary's Valentina Loiero was one of 30 finalists out of more than 8,000 fourth grade students from across the state who participated in the folder contest, which asked students to create artwork with the theme, "Fun Things To Do Instead of Doing Drugs." Loiero's colorfol folder design reads, "I got an A+ cause I don't do drugs." The suspect and an alleged accomplice in the TD Bank robbery in Saddle Brook Friday morning are in custody, Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler said. The suspect and an alleged accomplice in the TD Bank robbery in Saddle Brook Friday morning are in custody, Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler said.
Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for the armed robbery of the TD Bank on Floral Lane in Saddle Brook Friday morning, Police Chief Robert Kugler said. The man, identified as Jorge Rodriguez, and an alleged accomplice were taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. Friday after being found in a Graham Terrace home just a couple blocks from the bank, Kugler said. Rodriguez, of South River, was charged with robbery, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful use. Another man, whom police found in the home and believe to be an associate of Rodriguez, was also taken into custody, but is only considered a person of interest at this point, Kugler said.
